SENIOR RESIDENTIAL CAMP
Registration for Senior Camp is now open. If you are interested please register but you do not have to pay until we have finalised all the details. However, please only register if you are absolutely sure you will be able to come as the number of registrations we get will determin if and how the camp will run.
Senior Camp will be for members aged 12 and above who are at Pony Club C Test Level (Intermediate) and above. Please note, they do not have to have taken or passed their C Test, just be able to ride at that level. They should be able to jump a course of 60cm or above on an unfamiliar pony and 70-80cm on a known pony.
Places are very limited so please only register if you are serious about attending the camp. Please also only register if you are certain that you are a strong enough rider to cope with unfamiliar ponies who may sometimes get a little excited when they are out of the confines of a riding arena. If you are unsure about this, please email me first and I will speak to your regular riding instructor to get a better idea.
Camp will start on Monday morning and finish Friday around 2pm Wednesday will be a non-riding day (due to the riding school being very busy on that day) but there will be plenty of other activities and possibly a field trip!
The camp will include show jumping, dressage and some cross country training, culminating in a show on the final day. Campers will ride twice a day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and compete in two classes on the Show Day. During the day campers will be fully responsible for taking care of their horse, this includes mucking out the stables, grooming, cleaning tack and general love and attention! There will also be stable management lectures and practical sessions. As this is a much smaller camp than our others we are also open to running stable management sessions tailored to your needs, so please feel free to let us know if there is something you would like to learn and we will see if we can arrange for a session on that subject (no promises but we will try!)
Accommodation will be in the Beas River Chalets, there will be 3 or 4 campers assigned to each room. All meals will be provided and campers will also be able to use of the swimming pool.
The fee for camp will be $4,800, this will cover all costs including accomodation, food and lessons. If you are bringing your own horse the fee will be the same but all extra charges such transport will be covered by the HKPC
Registration will close on June 7th.
