Morning Classes

The morning classes will be organised into 4 leagues - Lead Rein, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. Please be responsible with your choice of league and do not enter a league that does not fit your riding level, bearing in mind that you will most likely be riding an unknown horse/pony.

Each league will consist of 2 classes:

Lead Rein: Pole Scurry and Barrel Racing (Patents will be responsible for leading their children. Anyone who is not sure about this please email the secretary.

Novice (D/D+ Level): Equitation Jumping 20-30cm & Handy Pony

Intermediate (D+/C Level): Equitation Jumping 40cm-50cm & Handy Pony

Advanced (C/C+ Level):Equitation Jumping 60cm-70cm & Handy Pony

The Equitation Jumping class will be judged on things like, Rhythm, Accuracy, Lines and Approach, Position etc.

The Handy Pony Class is basically an obstacle course, judged on faults and time, not style.  Riders will have to complete the course in the fastest time possible. Obstacles may include posting a letter, riding through a maze, hanging washing on a line, mounting from the wrong side etc. There will not be any jumps except maybe one or two in the advanced class.

Each Pony Club member may enter one league only.  There will be rosettes and prizes for each class and a Champion and Reserve Champion for each League, judged on the combined results from both classes.

Afternoon Classes

In the afternoon we will hold the Philip Day Memorial Challenge.

This is a very prestigious event that has been running for many years.

Last years winners were:
Cup:  Kendall Kruger riding Mountain Treasure

The Philip Day Challenge will be by Invitation only, but members who wish to compete may email the secretary to express their interest in competing.
Invitations will be sent out in the next few days along with entry costs etc.

The final event will be a fancy dress competition and Parade. This will be open to all members who compete in any of the classes.

Members will be allocated horses/ponies by the HKPC District Commissioner and the Chief Instructor of Tuen Mun Public Riding School.
