Rally Details

LEVEL:  You must be intermediate or above and be able to canter.  If you are not quite intermediate but would really like to join please send an email to the secretary with some details about your riding experience.  If there are spaces left we may open it up to more novice riders who are learning to canter.

In the morning there will be gymkhana training to hone your skills.  We will be learning how to get on and of at SPEED, picking up balls at SPEED, droping things in buckets at SPEED, as well at neck reining and a whole lot of other stuff.  Of course when we say SPEED, that could mean walk or canter, depending on both you and your pony's skill!

In the afternoon there will be lots of races to practice your new found skills, there will be rosettes and cookies!!

You will be expected to tack up and generally look after the pony that you are assigned to which you will share with another rider, this will involve grooming, tacking up, washing down and skipping out.  Help will be on hand where needed, but this is an intermediate level Rally so you are expected to be able to complete these tasks.

We will not be providing lunch but there are soft drink machines and both McDonalds and Pizza Hut deliver if you do not wish to bring a packed lunch.

As this is such late notice and the first event for a while due to our insurance issues, we are doing this event at an extrememly low cost of $300 per child for the day, this includes the instruction, the horse hire and the entry fees.

Please register asap if you wish to come, there needs to be a minimum of 6 entries in order to hold the event and a maximum of 12.  Entries are only accepted when accompanied by payment, due to the closeness of the event this will have to be made either online or via ATM and proof of emailed to

HSBC a/c 039 012455 001

We also (as always) need parents, older members etc to help at the event on the day.  If you are willing to come and help please let our secretary, Sarah Sing, know and tell her if you are a horsey or non-horsey helper!

Please email the secretay if you have any questions

Kind Regards,
Tara Delaney
District Commissioner
