SENIOR RESIDENTIAL CAMP
Registration for Senior Camp is now open. If you are interested please register and make on-line payment to secure your child's place.
Senior Camp will be for members aged 12 and above who are at Pony Club C Test Level (Intermediate) and above. Please note, they do not have to have taken or passed their C Test, just be able to ride at that level. They should be able to jump a course of 60cm or above on an unfamiliar pony and 70-80cm on a known pony.
Places are very limited so please only register if you are serious about attending the camp. Please also only register if you are certain that you are a strong enough rider to cope with unfamiliar ponies who may sometimes get a little excited when they are out of the confines of a riding arena. If you are unsure about this, please email me first and I will speak to your regular riding instructor to get a better idea.
SCHEDULE & ACTIVITIES
Camp will start on Monday morning at around 8am and finish Thursday at around 2pm after the Prize Giving in the Old Clubhouse.
During the camp week campers will be fully responsible for taking care of their horse, this includes mucking out the stables, grooming, cleaning tack and general love and attention!
There will also be stable management lectures and practical sessions. As this is a much smaller camp than our others we are also open to running stable management sessions tailored to your needs, so please feel free to let us know if there is something you would like to learn and we will see if we can arrange for a session on that subject.
The camp this year will focus mostly on dressage with jumping, culminating in a Prix Caprilli Competition on the final day. There will also be time spent on the X-Course and on the trails.
Campers will ride twice a day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Friday will be Competition Day, where campers can compete in two classes.
We will hopefully be able to visit Shatin Veterinary Hospital and have a tour of the facilities.
Depending on the schedule there may also be the possibility of a day trip to a rock pool and waterfall with lunch at a nearby Thai restaurant.
The final Day Competition will be a Prix Caprilli Test for one of the classes and an equitation style class for the second class. Both classes will take place in the morning.
There will be a lunch before the prize giving, please let us know how many family members/friends will be coming as we have to confirm numbers with the catering department. We will also ask for a donation towards the cost of lunch if you are not a camper.
Accommodation will be in the Beas River Chalets, there will be between 2 and 4 campers (depending on numbers / gender etc.) assigned to each room. All meals will be provided and campers will also be able to use the swimming pool.
COST OF CAMP
The fee for camp will be $4,800, this will cover all costs including accommodation, food and lessons. If you are bringing your own horse the fee will be the same but all extra charges such transport will be covered by the HKPC
