SENIOR RESIDENTIAL CAMP
Registration for Senior Camp is now open. If you are interested please register and make online payment to secure your child's place.
Senior Camp will be for members aged 12 and above who are at Pony Club C Test Level (Intermediate) and above. Please note, they do not have to have taken or passed their C Test, just be able to ride at that level. They should be able to jump a course of 60cm or above on an unfamiliar pony and 70-80cm on a known pony.
Places are very limited so please only register if you are serious about attending the camp. Please also only register if you are certain that you are a strong enough rider to cope with unfamiliar ponies who may sometimes get a little excited when they are out of the confines of a riding arena. If you are unsure about this, please email me first and I will speak to your regular riding instructor to get a better idea.
Camp will start on Monday morning and finish Thursday at around 2pm after the Prize Giving in the Old Clubhouse. There will be a lunch before the prize giving, please let us know how many family members/friends will be coming as we have to confirm numbers with the catering department. We will also ask for a donation towards the cost of lunch if you are not a camper.
The camp will include show jumping, dressage and some cross country training, culminating in a show on the final day. Campers will ride twice a day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday will be a competion, where campers can compete in two classes.
We are also very lucky to be able to arrange a visit to Shatin Racecourse where we will be shown around one of the top raceshorse trainer's stables and possibly the Vetinary Hospital.
During the camp week campers will be fully responsible for taking care of their horse, this includes mucking out the stables, grooming, cleaning tack and general love and attention! There will also be stable management lectures and practical sessions. As this is a much smaller camp than our others we are also open to running stable management sessions tailored to your needs, so please feel free to let us know if there is something you would like to learn and we will see if we can arrange for a session on that subject.
Accommodation will be in the Beas River Chalets, there will be 3 or 4 campers assigned to each room. All meals will be provided and campers will also be able to use the swimming pool.
The fee for camp will be $4,800, this will cover all costs including accomodation, food and lessons. If you are bringing your own horse the fee will be the same but all extra charges such transport will be covered by the HKPC
