We will also be holding the first of three X-Country Training Days at Beas River at the end of the month. This will be a great opportunity for our more advanced riders to practice their cross country skills and get some great training both on horseback and on the ground from the resident Eventing Instructor at Beas River Equestrian Centre. If you have your own livery and would like to come, please tell us that when you register, you will almost definitely get a place if you have your own horse/pony as places for all our events are generally limited by the number of horses and ponies we are able to hire.
There will be three of these days in total and we would like to offer to a group of members who would be able to come to all three sessions so that they are able to build their skills over the season, however there may be some spots available for one off sessions.
To be eligible for this event you must be confidently jumping courses of 60-70cm, preferably in competition and ideally have had some X-Country experience, though this is desirable rather than con. You will be riding ponies and horses you don't know out on the open grass where they often get quite excited. You therefore need to be at a stage in your riding where you will be able to cope with this, both physically and mentally. We are really looking for riders who are C Level and above. This does not mean they have to hold their C Test, just that they are riding at that level.
Priority will be given to members who hold their Efficiency Test Badges.
Registration will open very soon and an email will be sent out to let you all know.
We have a preliminary list of Events and dates ready for the new season. This list does not include rallies which will be running regularly throughout the year. There is also not date as yet for the Philip Day Memorial Challenge Cup and Bowl but these will hopefully be held later in the season during one of the Beas River shows.
